
Self-regulation is developmental. Kindergarten aged children usually rely on co-regulation from an adult and are just beginning to self-regulate at times. It is a challenge for them to manage their impulses, especially when they are experiencing strong emotions or when something surprising or unexpected happens. The next few posts will focus on strategies for supporting children who “call out”, disrupting discussions and lessons.
